A Little About His Name

So, we call him Odin but his name is Cadell Odin. Why do we call him Odin instead of Cadell? Because, Cadell being a little longer people will want to shorten it and give him a nickname, like Cad, Cade, or Dell, and we don't lake any of those nick names, so we call him Odin. Jaydee challenges anyone to find a catchy nickname that is shorter then Odin.

Now that I have explained ourselves on to the meaning.

Cadell is Welsh and means-"battle or battler"

Odin-The boy's name Odin is of Old Norse origin. Odin was the chief god of Norse mythology, identified with art and culture, wisdom, poetry, prophecy and magic. His name is related to óðr, meaning "excitation," "fury" or "poetry." Other meanings of the name are inspiration, divine creative inspiration, soulful, wealthy defender, and ruler.

So, as you can see, our little angel is going to be a force to be reckoned with come the End Time.

And here are some pictures of the Odin, as a boxer, hee hee. Forget the Italian Stallion! Jaydee calls him the Brazilian Million!

Pray tell, which of you has welsh or Norse blood? Just curious as to if the name was a European trip, or for the fact that he was born on Wednesday, or if there is some serious blood link?? The god Odin was (in my limited Norse opinion, being Norwegian) rather on the (if u dont mind me saying so)demonic side of Scandinavian religion, and is one of the prime factors of the paganism wave that is on the rise in the country. Sorry to throw a wet blanket on the adorable baby's name...... Cadell was pretty good, because you went after it for the meaning.

I feel no wet blanket. We went for both names because of their meaning. and yes, we've researched the name time and again and like the meaning of both Cadell and Odin. I was skeptical on "Odin", but after praying about it, we know it's the right name. Neither of us are of European blood, nor care for its European origin or even it's Pagan origin. It's a new day, and I know Jesus ain't just for the circumcised. I figure, the name won't make my son... if i play my cards right, and raise him in the word, my son will be beyond any evil you feel this name holds... don't worry, I don't plan on raising him a Pagan.

Cadell=cadehl as "ll" is a welsh distinctive, sounded as 'tl' or 'hl' on the sides of the tongue. I am half scottish and have lived in wales for many years, i just thought you might like to know the correct pronunciation. Cute kid by the way, love the little boxing gloves.
